The Long Short Advisors' team has a combination of over 70 years of industry knowledge. We have tremendous experience in locating and finding undiscovered capacity constrained managers with a long- term track record and a significant personal investment in their strategies.

Matthew E. West, CIMA®

Chief Executive Officer

Mr. West founded Long Short Advisors in 2010 and is the Chief Executive Officer of the firm.  Mr. West founded the firm after identifying the need for investment and financial advisors to provide client access to hedge fund strategies and alternative investments without the lock-up periods, restrictions, and lack of liquidity so common in the industry.  Mr. West has over 28 years of experience working in the wealth management business. Mr. West also founded a registered investment advisory firm in Philadelphia in 1994 and sold the firm in 2016 with over $750 million under management.  Matthew received a bachelor’s degree in business management from Kutztown University, where he currently sits on the University Foundation Board and the Kutztown University Investment Committee.  He also completed study at the Wharton School of Finance for the Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA®), given by the Investment Management Consultants Association (IMCA).

Dane Czaplicki, CFA®

 Head of Research & Manager Selection

Mr. Czaplicki founded Long Short Advisors in 2010 and is responsible for research and manager selection.  Mr. Czaplicki is also the Director of Research of a registered investment advisory firm in Philadelphia and leads its Investment Committee. He is responsible for due diligence on managers/strategies, portfolio construction, and portfolio implementation.  Prior to joining the registered investment company in 2007, Mr. Czaplicki was an investment analyst at both Veritable, LP and Lockwood Advisors, Inc.  He began his financial career with The Vanguard Group. He received his MBA at the Wharton School of Business. Mr. Czaplicki graduated cum laude from Bloomsburg University where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology. Dane has earned the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) designation.

Christine Taylor

Director of Operations

Ms. Taylor is in charge of operations for the firm.  Ms. Taylor collaborates closely with each department at Long Short Advisors and oversees internal operations related to client relations, business development and compliance.  Ms. Taylor has worked in the investment industry for 15 years in many capacities with experience in marketing, client service, manager research, compliance, vendor management, operations and system administration. Ms. Taylor graduated cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics.


Kelly Bubeck

Chief Compliance Officer

Ms. Bubeck of Beacon Compliance Consulting is Chief Compliance Officer of Long Short Advisors.  Ms. Bubeck is responsible for the implementation and oversight of the Firm’s compliance program, as well as keeping the Firm informed of all pertinent regulatory matters. She previously worked in the legal field on catastrophic personal injury and mass tort cases. Ms. Bubeck graduated from Regis University where she earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting. She is currently attending Drexel Kline School of Law where she will graduate with her Master of Legal Studies with a concentration in Financial Regulatory Compliance in August of 2019.

Elizabeth Marrosu


Ms. Marrosu oversees internal marketing. She assists with the production of marketing collateral for the company, as well as, contributes to promotional strategies and business development. In her previous role, she worked closely with vendor relations while engaging client audiences on multiple levels through promotional products. Ms. Marrosu received a bachelor’s degree in Marketing Design at Philadelphia University.



Amanda Paola


Ms. Paola focuses on client relations, marketing and business development initiatives. In her previous role, she worked at a national law firm as a Marketing and Business Development Coordinator. Ms. Paola graduated from Saint Joseph’s University where she earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration, Marketing.
